How to setup an eircom wireless broadband connection

Below is a video on how to setup an eircom wireless broadband connection.  If you want to surf the Internet without a wireless connection just follow the first part of the video up to the point where it shows you the two different types of eircom router box. You do not need to install any software just plug the ethernet cable straight into your computer and open our browser and away you go!

In order to connect to your wireless router your computer must have a wireless connection installed on it, either with an internal adpater which is common on most new models of laptop or with a USB version which is common method for PC's.

If you have the newer type of eircom router box, the black model with the single ariel installed you can get the passphrase / password by looking underneath the router box and you should see a label similar to the one below:

The wireless security key that you see above is the same as the encryption key on the silver eircom router box that you access through the web (ip address) 192.168.1.254 eircom now makes this process easier by printing the code on your router box.   

Please note that the older silver boxes the password was known as the encryption key, on the newer black models the password is now known as the wireless security key.
